Those of us who remained at the Four Seasons Chiang Mai experienced a temple and market tour, or interacted with elephants at a sanctuary. There were tigers too!
Those of us not at the tented camp had a somewhat less rigorous encounter with elephants. At the elephant sanctuary, we fed them bananas, were given a demonstration of the skill of the animal handlers (mahouts), watched the elephants bathe, then rode them through the jungle and into the water. I was hoping they wouldn't fill their trunks and give us a bath. It was a fun and easy morning.

The Ferocious Tiger
Late in the day, Vince, Patty, and I had a tiger adventure. Tiger Kingdom was located just minutes from the resort. Unbelievably, we were allowed inside the cages, to interact with the tigers. It was great fun. We were the last guests of the night, but intelligently left before the animals got too hungry.Patty, Vince and Janet ...not eaten by tigers |
