Later That Same Day.....Instruction in Balinese Cuisine
It's not that I do much cooking anymore, but I couldn't resist the Balinese cooking class today. On the menu: satay (Satay Lilit Ayam), pickled vegetables (Acur Sayur), red snapper in a banana leaf (Pepes Ikan Kakap), a lemon grass relish (Sambal Matah), and finally, a pumpkin dessert (Kue Labu).Six of us took the course and enjoyed learning lots of new tricks from chefs Ariana and Jatu, and their assistant, Sucita.
The food was delicious, particularly the satays in which ground chicken was used along with many herbs and spices to make a really flavorful treat!
